Holded development and integrations

Holded runs your business. We build what Holded doesn't do.

Custom development on the Holded API: dashboards with up-to-date data, orders and documents that create themselves, filings that come straight from the ERP and links to your other software. Holded stays the place where your data lives.

First things first

What the Holded API lets you do

The Holded API is the door through which another program can read and write in your account: sales and purchase invoices, contacts, products, stock, accounting, projects… It is switched on with a key that Holded itself generates in its settings.

With it you can do almost everything you do by hand on screen, without anyone typing it: an order from your shop arriving on its own, a supplier invoice coming in with its contact created properly, or a dashboard showing your sales without exporting anything.

Version 2 of the API changes things that break older integrations, such as how long lists are paged or how amounts are formatted. Whoever builds on it should know it first-hand.

Sound familiar?

This is for you if…

  • To see how the month is going, you export from Holded to a spreadsheet.
  • You retype into Holded orders, invoices or contacts that already live in another program.
  • The integration you need isn't in the Holded catalogue, or doesn't do what your business needs.
  • You prepare filings such as Intrastat by hand, with data that is already in Holded.
  • Your online shop, your logistics or your in-house app don't talk to Holded.

What we do

On top of Holded, not instead of it

  • Dashboards on Holded data

Sales, margins, stock and collections up to date on one screen, read from Holded through its API. Nobody has to export anything.

  • Documents that create themselves

Purchase orders, invoices or contacts that a tool creates in Holded with its numbering and its fields, exactly as a person would.

  • Filings from the ERP

Intrastat, for example, built from Holded invoices, packing lists and the weight on the product record.

  • Holded connected to your software

Your online shop, your CRM, your logistics or your in-house app, when the catalogue integration falls short or doesn't exist.

Real case

A medical-sector distributor, on Holded

All the information was in Holded, but to see how the month was going someone had to pull a report and build it into a spreadsheet. Today management sees it instantly, and the tools do things Holded didn't.

  • Management dashboard

Connected to Holded through its API: sales for the year and the month, average ticket, active customers, critical stock, expiry dates and trend against the previous year.

  • Automatic purchase orders

Created in Holded as purchase orders, with their sequential numbering, and sent to the supplier from the tool.

  • An Intrastat that learns

It reads Holded invoices or uploaded ones, packing lists and delivery notes. It takes the weight from the product record and remembers tariff codes, so each filing asks for less than the one before.

What the documentation doesn't say

We use Holded ourselves

Our own purchase invoices go into Holded through the API, with the right contact, tax ID, country and VAT type, and the PDF attached. Along the way we have learnt things a rushed integration misses:

  • A contact's tax ID goes in its code, without the country prefix, and the country in its own field. Otherwise the form 349 that Holded prepares comes out incomplete.
  • Long lists are read page by page. A query without paging returns only part of the data, and a sync that doesn't know it loses records silently.
  • Some suppliers send the invoice and the receipt as two documents. If both go in, the expense is counted twice.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Holded API?
It is how Holded lets other programs read and write in your account: invoices, contacts, products, stock or accounting. You switch it on with a key from the Holded settings.
Doesn't Holded already have integrations?
Yes, it has a catalogue of integrations with other apps. We come in when the existing one doesn't do what your business needs, when there isn't one, or when you need a tool Holded doesn't have.
Do I have to change ERP?
No. Holded stays the place where your data lives. What we build reads from it and, when needed, writes to it.
Does it work with version 2 of the API?
Yes. We work with the API v2, which is what our own integrations use.
How much does it cost?
It depends on what needs building. Tell us the case and we'll tell you what is possible and what it would cost before starting.
