Verifactu check-up

Does your invoicing software comply with Verifactu? We tell you what it is missing.

For businesses in Spain that invoice with their own software, a custom build, their website or a point-of-sale system made for them. We review what you have, tell you what is missing and how to adapt it once, with e-invoicing already in mind.

  • Free online check-up, about two minutes
  • Verifactu already integrated and tested in our internal ERP
  • No commitment: the check-up does not tie you to the adaptation

Timeline

What is law and what has only been announced

Updated on 23 October 2026

  • In force

    1 January 2027

Verifactu for companies. Everyone else, 1 July 2027. Set by Royal Decree-law 15/2025.

  • Announced

    October 2028

The Ministry of Finance wants to delay Verifactu to match e-invoicing. It has not been published in the BOE yet.

  • Published

    6 October 2027

Mandatory e-invoicing for businesses with more than 8 million euros of turnover the previous year. Everyone else, 6 October 2028.

Is this you?

This is for you if…

  • Your invoicing software was built by someone who is no longer around.
  • You invoice from your own website, online shop or app.
  • Your ERP or point-of-sale system is custom-built.
  • Your vendor will not tell you whether it has the responsible declaration.
  • You want to adapt the software once, not now and again in 2028.

The check-up

What we review

  1. 01

    Invoicing records

That every invoice issued or cancelled produces its record with the data the regulation requires.

  2. 02

    Chained fingerprint

That each record carries the hash of the previous one and the chain cannot be broken without leaving a trace.

  3. 03

    QR code on the invoice

That the invoice, printed or as a PDF, carries the verification QR code and, if you send records to the Tax Agency, the VERI*FACTU legend.

  4. 04

    Sending or keeping

Which mode suits you: sending each record to the Tax Agency as it happens, or keeping them signed with an event log.

  5. 05

    Responsible declaration

Who has to sign it in your case: your company, if the software is yours, or whoever sells it to you.

  6. 06

    E-invoicing

What would change to send and receive e-invoices, so the software only has to be opened once.

What you get

A report and a plan

  • When you finish the questionnaire, initial guidance on screen.
  • Within 24 working hours, what is missing and how to adapt it: inside your software or with a separate module.
  • A fixed quote for the adaptation, if you want us to do it.

No surprises

What we do not do

  • We are not tax advisers: VAT or accounting questions go to your accountant.
  • We do not sign your software's responsible declaration as part of the check-up.
  • We do not sell you invoicing software.

Why us

We have already done it

We have integrated Verifactu into our internal ERP and tested it: it works. We know where it gets complicated because we have already run into it.

Frequently asked questions

Has Verifactu been delayed to 2028?
The Ministry of Finance announced it on 5 October 2026, but until it is published in the BOE the legal dates are still 1 January 2027 for companies and 1 July 2027 for everyone else.
My software is custom-built. Who signs the responsible declaration?
According to the Spanish Tax Agency, if your own company develops it, with its own staff or people it hires, your company signs. If you commissioned it as a product from a third party, that third party signs.
I use commercial software. Do I need the check-up?
Probably not: ask your vendor for the responsible declaration, which must be visible inside the software itself. The check-up is for businesses that invoice with their own or custom-built software.
How much does the check-up cost?
Nothing. The questionnaire and the initial guidance are free. If you want us to adapt your software, we send you a fixed quote.
Does the check-up commit me to hiring you for the adaptation?
No. You keep the report and the plan, and your own team or anyone you choose can do the adaptation.
Does it cover e-invoicing too?
Yes. The Ministry of Finance has announced that Verifactu and e-invoicing will converge, so the plan covers both and the software only has to be touched once.
